An Ice Cream Lesson

An Ice Cream Lesson (Animation, 1.5 min, 2006) Who ever thought eating ice cream could be so traumatic? The joys and sorrows of ice cream cones. I got the idea for this film when I gave my kids ice cream cones for the first time. It was a hot summer day, and the ice cream quickly began to melt down their hands. This was very traumatic for them, but hilarious for me. For the rest of the summer I served ice cream cones with my camera ready to capture what crazy events might unfold. My group of animator friends in Winnipeg were game to convert the home-video footage in to hand-drawn stills. The final animation was completed over one weekend for the Winnipeg Film Group's 48 Hour films fest.
